Modern Waste Management is a highly regulated industry making sure waste is handled with sustainable best practices. Not everyone wants or needs to be an environmentalist, but we all have to live in the environment. The landfill does not accept liquids and chemicals that can harm the environment including the water supply. The current best practice is to deliver the restricted waste to your jurisdiction's, Hazardous Waste Center.

One example for Kansas City is: Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Center.

Overland Park and Johnson County

The good news is that most towns and cities have established these sites to help you dispose of these restricted items.

With this in mind there are some common items that can be placed in a dumpster and sent to the landfill. These include dried paint and stains. It makes good sense since most building materials are covered in paint and stain and if it is fully dried it is allowed in the landfill and therefore can be placed in a dumpster for disposal.

Common restricted waste includes Oil and products containing oil or products distilled from oil including solvents.

Phoenix Waste understands that homeowners often have these products in their homes and our first request is that the homeowner arrange to deliver these items to their Hazardous Waste Center. If it is not possible Phoenix Waste can assist in the proper disposal of paints, stains, and other chemicals for a fee. It is important to communicate with us to make sure you do not incur fines.
